A solo officiant doesn't need a wedding-planner-grade CRM. Here is how HoneyBook, Dubsado and 17hats handle contracts, invoicing, scheduling and intake, with pricing verified against all three vendors.
Pick 17hats if you want every feature unlocked from day one with no tier-upgrade decision to make. Pick Dubsado Starter instead if the lowest possible annual price matters more than built-in scheduling or automation.

If you officiate weddings solo, with no team and no venue logistics to coordinate, you don't need most of what a wedding-planner-grade CRM sells. What you actually need is a contract the couple can e-sign, an invoice you can collect a deposit and balance against, a way to schedule a consultation call, and an intake questionnaire to gather the couple's story so you can personalize the ceremony script. HoneyBook does all of that, but in February 2025 it raised its entry-level price by roughly 90% ($19/mo to $36/mo), a jump big enough that it's worth checking whether a lighter tool covers the same ground for less.
Dubsado pricing last confirmed October 1, 2026. HoneyBook pricing last confirmed October 1, 2026 (cross-checked across multiple independent sources, direct fetch still returns HTTP 403). 17hats pricing last confirmed September 23, 2026, including its 50% first-term promo, still live at that check.

HoneyBook pricing re-verified via multi-source web search on 2026-10-01; its own pricing page still returns an HTTP 403 to automated fetching, so its figures here are cross-checked across independent sources rather than read directly off the vendor page. The base Starter/Essentials/Premium prices agree across sources; the two original sources (taskip.net, agiled.app) disagree slightly on HoneyBook's exact lead-form caps per tier, which is noted above rather than papered over, and that specific caveat was not re-checked this pass. Dubsado was re-verified directly against its own pricing page on 2026-10-01; 17hats figures, including its 50% first-term promotion, were verified directly against its own pricing page on 2026-09-23. All three vendors change pricing periodically; confirm current numbers before buying.
The HoneyBook price hike changed the math. At $36/mo for the entry tier, HoneyBook now costs more per month than Dubsado's entire Starter year ($335/year, roughly $28/mo). If you only need contracts, invoicing and basic scheduling, which is most of an officiant's workflow, Dubsado Starter covers the same ground for less, though you'll lose Dubsado's advanced scheduling and automation, which live behind its Premier tier.
HoneyBook's Starter tier is the tightest of the three on scheduling. One active scheduler session on Starter means a single event type: fine if you only ever book "wedding ceremony," tighter if you also offer vow renewals, rehearsals or elopements as separately bookable services. 17hats and Dubsado Premier don't share that specific cap.
17hats has no tiers to think about, and now a free way to try it. If you don't want to compare feature caps across plans at all, 17hats' single paid plan includes everything with no upgrade decision. 17hats also offers a free CRM plan (unlimited contacts/projects, capped at 4 invoices/quarter), plus a 50%-off first-term promo on the paid plan ($300/yr instead of $600 list), confirmed still live on a direct check on 2026-09-23. That free tier is enough to try the client portal and contracts before you pay anything, though at 4 officiations' worth of invoices a quarter it caps out fast for anyone booking more than one ceremony a month. Note that 17hats' referral program pays a one-time $50 gift card rather than an ongoing commission, a detail for the tool's own affiliates, not for you as a buyer.
A published wedding-pro comparison flags a genuinely different factor: fit, not features. One wedding professional who tested both platforms directly wrote that despite Dubsado being the more customizable tool on paper, HoneyBook's interface "just clicked" for visualizing their client pipeline, and that was the deciding factor over either price or feature checklist.
